This Month's
MGM Speaker
The MGM for November 20 will be presented by The Battered
Women and Children's Shelter. Janie Barragan and other
speakers will discuss the mission of breaking the cycle
of family violence and providing tools for self-sufficiency.
About 1585 participants are served annually with safe,
caring, comprehensive and professional services including
24-hour crisis intervention, attorneys for legal assistance,
an on-site school pre-K to 12th grade, and others.
Community based counseling, substance abuse
intervention programs for adolescents and adults, and
violence intervention programs for batterers are also
provided. A volunteer program is integral.
